Garden visits

For the past 25 years I have grown a Plant Heritage National Collection of hardy Euphorbias on a large allotment at Firvale Allotment Gardens in the village of Harthill which lies to the south east of Sheffield. The 100+ Euphorbias are grown in 13 island beds amongst hundreds of other hardy perennials, shrubs and bulbs.

The collection has been featured twice on BBC 2’s Gardeners World programme with Joe Swift and Carol Klein both visiting on separate occasions.

It has also been featured in numerous national gardening magazines including the RHS’s ‘The Garden,’ 'Gardening Which' and ‘Gardens Illustrated’.

The garden is open to visitors and groups by appointment during the main flowering season from April to the end of June. The cost of a visit is £4 per person - groups can also book refreshments (home made cakes and hot drinks) for an extra £3. All money goes to the National Garden Scheme charity.

Providing the weather is OK people will spend between 40 minutes and an hour in the garden. Groups who book refreshments back in my home garden will need up to 2 hours for the visit.

There is a small off-site nursery where plants propagated from the garden can be purchased. See nursery page.

NB. I do not have the facilities in the nursery to offer a mail order service.
